It is now possible to add a new folder, context or goal on-the-fly when adding a new task via the main website. To use this feature, select the “New Folder…” option at the bottom of the folder list.

Also, we have added a confirmation warning when trying to complete a task that has uncompleted subtasks. This will make it less likely that an active subtask could get accidentally forgotten when the parent task is completed.

This looks great. Wish there could be a smart tag added to the email as well to add folders/context through email. For people like me who send tasks by twitter or email, it would be the best that could ever happen.

Things needs no introduction. It had been in the forefront of Mac productivity since the day the world saw it. The team at Cultured Code has carefully executed one of the most beautiful and powerful GTD app systems on the Apple platform. They started with the Mac, in late 2007. They then combined it with an iPhone version of Things. Cultured Code again brought forth something amazing for mobile device, preserving the look and feel of the Mac version yet fitting right into the iPhone form factor. To say they’ve greatly improved the iPhone version would be an understatement. When it shipped, it didn’t even sync with the desktop; now it boasts a feature set that makes it almost as powerful as the desktop.

Finally the wait for Indian subscribers to officially lay their hands on the (now, not so) new iPhone 3Gs has ended.

Airtel announced the availability of the same with immediate effect.

Vodafone customer care had no idea about the same.

When contacted on the toll free number 121, Airtel customer had no idea as to what were the exchange offers available for people who had purchased iPhone 3G from them. Walk in to the nearest Airtel store, they told me.

Yeah, right!

This seems to be a handy trick for iPhone owners who wish to get a delivery report for the sms they send. As most iPhone owners would be (painfully) aware that the phone itself does not allow for delivery of delivery reports! So, here is a neat trick for Vodafone India subscribers.

The trick is to compose an sms starting with *N#, followed by your sms.

That’s it! In a short while you will get an sms from the Vodafone SMS centre saying that that your SMS has been delivered.

Why I say Vodafone India, is because I have only personally tried with a Vodafone Mumbai network. If any of you have a similiar code for other service providers, or have tried the same code with other providers and met with success. Please feel free to drop a line.

For those with huge media libraries, even the 160GB iPod classic, the highest-capacity iPod Apple has ever produced, doesn’t provide enough space. So Macworld turned to storage-upgrade vendor Apricorn, which offers upgrade kits for the fifth-generation (5G) iPod. Each upgrade offers a larger hard drive—120GB for the 30GB 5G iPod, or 240GB for the 60GB and 80GB 5G iPod—as well as a higher-capacity battery.

I have been away for a long time but I promise to be back in a short while. Meanwhile, I am trying to streamline my blog posting by using MarsEdit. This is a test post from there. Hope it looks the way I want it to.

The rumours about the availability of the iPhone 3Gs just got a shot in the arm with Bombay Addict aka b50 saying that it might be available from November,2009 in India – and unlocked too.

Now, I have been holding out from buying a jailbroken iPhone 3Gs ever since it became available at Alfa and Heera Panna etc. as it scares the hell out of me to invest in something so expensive and have no warranty on the same.

For iPhone followers, the past few months have been nothing but disappointment. Airtel and Vodafone don’t seem to be stocking it ( iphone 3G) anymore and they have been absolutely mum on the official availability of the iPhone 3Gs. I was only able to procure mine because of an extremely enterprising employee at the Croma, Juhu store. He not only ordered the phone for me but also held on to it until I was able to collect it. God bless him.

I am not holding my breath on this one, this time as it is all I seem to have been doing since June. Though, ever since I laid my eyes on the tweet from Bombay Addict, my heart seems to have been beating faster.

What do you think?

There is a way for Vodafone India subscribers too, to Tweet and update their Facebook status all in one shot.

I discovered this method purely by chance and because of my tendency to keep “messing around” with things and settings.

I was about to write an elaborate post on how to do the same when I got know of this wonderful post here.

Check it out and tweet away!!
